Hello!
I am a PhD candidate in Music Education at the University of Toronto. My research interests include policy, cross-sectoral involvement, paradigm shifts, and institutional change in music education.
In my on-going dissertation study, I examine how school music festivals function as events and networks through which private sector and social economy actors shape the provision of public school music education in Canada. My research is supported in part by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (Canada Graduate Scholarship - Doctoral) and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.
Prior to pursuing graduate studies, I worked as a classroom teacher in an Ontario-based ESL program in Taiwan and Secondary Occasional Teacher for the Toronto District School Board. I was also classically-trained as a flutist and piccoloist. I earned my previous degrees from the University of Toronto (Mus.Bac. '18, MA '23) and Queen's University (BEd '19).
